Saturday, September 8th we had an open house to celebrate our marriage in St. George, as all of the other events would take place up north. Being from St. George/Santa Clara, Tim wanted to hold some sort of party down there so all the people he knew would be included as well! The Schiller's (heaven sent people) let us have the reception in their beautiful yard! Tim's mom and Lori did mostly all of the planning, I hardly had to worry about a thing! They made it so perfect and cute. It wasn't even too hot that night, what a blessing! It was honestly a joy meeting all of these wonderful people that care so much about Tim, and in turn already care about me without even knowing me. There were kind, smiling faces coming to see us all night. We had fun chatting with everyone from friends to neighbors, from ward members to aunts and uncles. Most of my family came down to help with the day's activities, and our two families had a blast getting to know each other and spending time together!

My sweet and talented dad built me these cupcake towers upon request!! They turned out so cute! |
Thanks to Tim's sister Holly for taking these pics! We have tons more but they are not yet in my possession. At this point we were one week away from the big day! Yay! Some people commented on how strange it was that we were having an open house before we were married, but honestly it wasn't even weird. It was the best decision we made about wedding planning. We had both of our receptions done and out of the way before we were actually married on the 15th, and it was SO! NICE! So nice to be able to focus only on the temple on that special day. So nice to not have to worry about another reception after the honeymoon. So nice to have time to enjoy each individual event, instead of being rushed off to the next activity if it were all packed into one day. Definitely recommend it!
