Fall's Festivities 2012

My mom and Hil came to visit! Matt is coaching high school football this year and his team was playing Diamond Ranch Academy, which is actually the school/program that Chad works at! So Hil and Mom came to support them and hangout with me :) We of course shopped. At every consignment store in st. George, and down some fun shops on main street. They stayed at Holly's (so nice!) and got to see our little casita. We had lunch with Tim at Peppers (not impressed) because my favorite Tiki Island was closed that day! We planned our Thanksgiving get together and went to the football game! It was so dang fun to watch high school football again. I miss it! I love the passion those boys have. I secretly (not a secret anymore!) sometimes wish that I was a boy so I could play football. I want to get suited up in all the pads and helmet and tackle and hit people. I especially want to do all the running and jumping and hugging and chest bumping, slapping and celebrating that they get to do! It looks so... chummy? happy? unifying? exciting? Allllright. Not in a creepy way. While mom and Hil were here we also had breakfast at Grandpa Steve's with him and Grandma Roma and Linz and Chad and John! All the Coalvillians in St. George gathering together :) Sad to see them go. And sorry it was rainy while they were here! Come back soon and it will be sunny I promise!

Kelv came to visit! We got to hang with him for a few days! We wish he would move here already :) While he was here, my car made some reaaaally strange noises. So we were out there looking at it, and our neighbor comes across the street and asks if he can help. Long story short, there are really, really, really, really, REALLY sincerely kind and generous people in the world. He ended up doing all of my car's repairs, which turned out only to be replacing a hose, and didn't want a thing in return. Tim has become really good friends with him ever since, and he has been a huge blessing in our lives. This is a miracle I really can't get over! I think too often it's too easy to pass up opportunities to help other people because we are too busy and we have many problems of our own. This man is an incredible example of Christlike kindness and service. I thank him from the bottom of my heart for his helping hands and the example he is to us. I honestly hope to always remember his example and follow in his footsteps. (not necessarily in the car repair area because that would be a disaster for everyone.)

Christmas shopping! Boys vs. Girls. The husbands and the wives
split up to conquer the task. Linz and I had so much fun!
Made good purchases for our hubbys and... ourselves.

Made homemade Cafe Rio.
So. good.
Huge recipe.
Ate it for days on end.

My black friday purchase! Love my KitchenAid! Thanks mom!
Ps homemade oreos are the best!
Made them for our ward party.
We absolutely love our ward.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend with Tim's family in Santa Clara.
Mark, Shan and Steve came down!
Played lots of games of cards,
did some shopping,
and made gingerbread houses!
So glad we got to do this because this has been my family's
tradition for years!! Ours is on the right, Mark and Shan's on
the left.
Kimball and Les and the rest of the Fitch crew also came for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed Kneaders endless french toast, games at Tim and Dana's, playing at the park, and giving Kimball and Les a tour of our tiny casita :)
Visited Milgro!
Yes those are endless poinsettias. And there are like 8
more buildings like this filled with literally millions
of plants.
More on this later.

Went to the Jubilee of Trees with Holly,
Tim's mom, Ali, Haley and Tim.
This tree was not my favorite of them all,
but it does hold a special place in my heart
because it represents my favorite story of
all time! The Christmas Orange!
I used to make my mom read it to me
every single night.

Went up north to have early Thanksgiving with my family
and attend katelynn and Mike's wedding!
Wonderful experience! It was nice to hear my grandpa's
gentle words at another person's ceremony. Brought
back some memories from our sealing not so long ago :)
We're so excited for Mike and Katelynn!
It was a BEAUTIFUL snowy day! Just perfect!
Made me wish I'd gotten married in winter.

We got the best of both worlds having early Thanksgiving with my family and real Thanksgiving with Tim's! We always love a weekend with family. I'm so glad it snowed while we were up there! It was so gorgeous! We also got to spend time with Mark and Shannah, going out to eat, discussing their upcoming wedding (yay!) and getting hot chocolate at Starbucks. We then went to Kaysville to meet Kimball and Les and family at Sam's (Les' sister) high school play! She was the pianist for the Phantom of the Opera, so well done! We also got to stop and see my good friend Ally Harris! So dang good to catch up with her. I think this is also the weekend we went up to Evanston for church to see Kys and Kolbs in their primary program :)
They were married in the Bountiful temple!
Had a luncheon at Chuck A Rama (Tim's
first time!) afterwords.

And right after the temple pics comes the casino pics. Nice.
I had to do a school project on casino culture.
We made the trip to Mesquite. Tim made some money.
I got carded and booted away from the table.
Picking our pumpkins at Staheli Farm pumpkin patch!

We went to Tuacahn a couple times, both for free!
Lucky us.
We saw Aladdin with Tim's friend Shane and his wife
then Adam gave us tickets to Hairspray for our wedding!
I think Tuacahn is the coolest thing on the planet.

J came to visit! Breakfast with these two at Bishops

My mom used to always make dinner in a pumpkin
for a fall meal! I made it for the first time for Tim's family!

he is out! How he managed this I wish I knew.
Woke me up and made me laugh in the middle
of the night though!

Sweetest note and wild flowers from Timothy Scott

Dinner at Texas Roadhouse and a night time Razor ride
in the desert with Curtis and Tyra!
Time of our lives!

We enjoyed Sunday dinners with Tim's fam and date nights with Linz and Chad. We made a few trips to "the bubble" the funnest place to hottub when the weather cools off! We hit up the driving range over fall break and I am sad to say I still suck. After all my days of practice. Buuuuut at least I didn't give up and lay down on the range like Linz did.
See that red thing? That's linz.
Just kidding. She is in a demanding school program right now and she just came from doing stuff for that. Her was tired! I never thought I'd say this, but it's fun to be out on the driving range. Relaxing and nice just to be outside.
Tim's friend from Russia came to visit! We took Artur (Arthur) to the driving range too, that was an adventure. We took him out to eat and he and Tim went shopping and to Orange Peel and hiking in Snow Canyon. I think Tim loved having him here and being able to speak Russian again! They would just go off speaking Russian and I would nod and pretend like I knew what was going on. It was a quick trip but we're glad he came!
We took Adam to see a movie (remake of Red Dawn) for his 17th birthday! We love that kid. That movie was a little unsettling. But I liked the intensity of it.
For Halloween we... were bums and didn't dress up. Our ward had a fun party with lots of food and entertainment for the kids and of course the Trunk or Treat. On the actual night of Halloween We went to Tim's parents house for dinner and then took Haley and Ali trick or treating in the neighborhood. So fun! While walking the streets with those excited little girls we set a goal to have xxxxx dollars in our bank account by next Halloween. We're gonna make it folks! We are so excited about saving as much money as we possibly can and making smart financial decisions. It's a real blessing to have a husband who shares your financial ideals.
