Randomly, this Tim character started appearing in my blog. Well, though he (thus far) has just played a small part in my blog (mostly cuz I haven't updated for 33 years) he has played the largest of roles in my life the past year! I want to start from the beginning here. I have a tendancy to bog my blog down with all the details I have ever though in my life because I treat it more like a journal than anything, but I shall try not to do that here because if I do I will never get caught up!
Tim and I met in public speaking class at Dixie College in the fall 2011 semester. Hardly talked in the class but got to know each other's personalities through the thousands of speeches we gave. Last speech assignment = sell a product. Any product. I gave my persuasive sales speech on the HARDWOOD HOOPS that my dad makes. (Just a side note: they are amazing. My basketball loving dad has a woodworking master side to him and I love it!) Tim, avid Jazz/basketball fan approaches me after class and tells me that he needs one of those. He was in some rush so I was like okay okay just text me and I'll order one for you. (Oh so smooooooth!) Next sidenote: he couldn't tell me why he was in a rush because he was actually going to an AA meeting. For his psychology class of course ;)
Texting was a good thing for us. Pretty sure we talked all day and all night for several days straight. I would be fibbing if I didn't say I was a little obsessed with this hilarious, goofy, my-life-is-an-open-book, super kind and thoughtful kid. Long story short, he came into my work and asked me out for the next Wednesday to Forgotten Carols, the best Christmas production known to man. We thouroughly enjoyed the show... so dang good. Yep, we held hands the first date. And it was totally normal! We got hot chocolate from Maverick and sat on top of the D talking until we couldn't risk failing our finals the next day due to lack of sleep. Next date two days later was a driving range date. Tim's pro, I suck. Oh look at that, Sunday I met the family. Haha! We had dinner at his sister Holly's house and it was a blast. I fell in love with his nieces and even more in love with the way he treated them and his family. (Sidenote #3: Ali cracked her head open that night... may or may not be due to the fact that we had her and Haley so wound up they couldn't think straight) Tim's mom woke him up the morning after meeting me saying, "Tim she's a keeper!!!"
Being Christmas break, we hung out every single day after that until I went home to be with my family. Had our first kiss just shy of a week after our first date, Tuesday night in Holly and Dustin's theater room. Haha! Was I on cloud 9? Yes!
We have had many adventures since then. We have spent nearly every day together (minus the time I lived up north obviously) and I have loved every day, every hour, every minute. The adventures never stop, whether it's cooking, gaming, roadtripping, shopping, competing or just talking, I can't get enough of Tim Miller. I have shared a few of our memories in my blog already and I'm sure I'll post many more. Here's the bottom line: Heavenly Father aligns our lives so perfectly, to bless us most abundantly. Why the heavens would I leave Laie, Hawaii to move to St. George, Utah??!?! If you were to ask me that question a year ago, I would have told you I have no idea. Now, after meeting and marrying my best friend, it's perfectly clear. It didn't appear that Tim was moving to Hawaii anytime soon, so Heavenly Father tugged me in the direction of the mainland. I'm amazed at how seamlessly it all fell into place. I'm grateful for it. I'm grateful for my now HUSBAND! (still getting used to saying that) I could say sooooo much about my feelings for Tim but I'll spare any readers of this and suffice with saying that I didn't think a person as amazing as Tim existed, and I didn't know it was possible to love someone so... overwhelmingly. I simply love him, in the deepest and most full meaning of the word.
So that's that for that. Stories of our story are still to come :)
