A lil' Kaz Tribute

At his house after his farewell!

Ah, Kaz. What can I even say to describe Kaz? We first bonded over mochi ice cream in Hawaii, and now he is serving a mission in Sendai Japan! (Well... shipping out from the MTC in a few weeks) I've written a little about him before but I'm just going to finish what I started now!
Kaz is one of those really, really good people. He never wants to hurt anyone's feelings and always thinks of ways to be nicer to people or include someone. He is a smarty like that! He really cares about their feelings and just has a soft heart. He is a master 12 string guitar player, I could listen to him play and sing forever. He has an incredible talent for writing songs and music too. He has recorded some of it and they are some of my favorite songs, I love when I get them stuck in my head. They are all original, Kaz, and uplifting. Kaz is PASS-ION-ATE. He loves sports and his family and his girl Kylie mucho. He also loves the gospel and was SO excited to serve, especially his people in Japan. He is half Japanese and represents! One time Kaz let me braid corn rows in his hair, and one time we started biting peanut m&m's in half and then combing them to make a whole and switching off who got to eat it. He was also an ice cream fanatic. He is artsy! He can draw his little heart out. He is his little brother's idol, and I think they are his, in a way. Ky and I got to be there when he opened his mission call, and the excitement and spirit in that room were incomparable. He said he knew that morning when he woke up that he would be called to Japan. How amazing! And how different his mission will be, with the tragic effects of the earthquake and tsunami there. And how cool for him to reconnect to his heritage! One time he forced me to walk across the covered sidewalk between the Hales while he held me up with his hands, and saved my life when Ky completely dropped out of my walkway! I could have died! One time he pulled Ky off the rock at Waimea cuz she wouldn't jump, and he always made pb and h in the caf, and always shared his best bite. The kid is funny!!!! The most classic comment was, "My dad's name is Marshall." I think I laughed about that for hours before I calmed down. He is a righteous, amazing person! I am SO completely stoked for his mission. The people are going to adore him, and he can't keep the spirit from radiating. He is always good to say  I love you, and gives the best hugs and funny hand shakes! He taught me how to dance, from his social dance class. He treats my best friend Kylie the way she deserves to be treated. Kaz is silly. He is always good for a good conversation and was always fun to visit when he worked at Seasider! I love this boy! Miss him tons, but can't wait to see him and his spiritual growth after 2 years!
