Valentines Day

Really, not a huge fan. I feel like it's a commercial holiday that forces people to spend money where they shouldn't and makes them feel bad if they don't, or feel bad if they don't have someone they care about to buy these products for. (given, that you CHOOSE how you feel about everything... but still, the media makes it hard, the pressurers.) I also feel that people shouldn't need a holiday to show that they love and care about someone and that love should be shown by things other than store bought gifts. But that's just me.

Happy 20th birthday to J! Linz and I wrote
her a birthday poem.
The week before Valentines day Linz and I had a much needed hang out day. We went to eat at DELICIOUS Parrot Head... I luh-ove that place. And pretty much talked our guts out. Then we did some shopping, some errand running and then went to her house to do laundo and make valentines!! We also played Just Dance, MJ version. It was SUCH a fantastic day. I really love that girl with all my heart. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing friend. She's so dang creative and awesome, I just love her to pieces.

I really think I could photograph Linz like all the time.
She is so easy to photograph.

Our home made valentines :)

Luckily, Tim got me out of my Valentines Day smirk, and had me looking forward to it for the first time since elementary school when you make a little box and give and receive Valentines (tattoos and candy included :) Those were the days! Well anyway, Tim is a sweetheart.

He had me entirely convinced that we were going to dinner somewhere when I got out of my night class.  Well... not so. I came home to the delicious smell of food and this kid slaving away in my kitchen!
This is the clean up... I didn't get a picture of the before :(
He teamed up with my roomie Jordan and fixed a candle light dinner of chicken alfredo and cesaer salad, it was divine! I was starved! It was a complete surprise and I was so stoked about it! How adorable is that?! I really can't get over how sneaky/thoughtful it all was. It worked out perfectly and I loved every minute of it. He even went to  my favorite place on the planet--the Sweet Tooth Fairy-- and got dessert from there :) Ohhhhh my goodness. What a fantastic Valentines night.

After I was so full I couldn't breathe... Tim insisted I destroy him at Monopoly Deal... So I obliged.
HAHA. Here he is contemplating his losses:

Utter defeat...
Ya win some ya lose some, right?

This game is rather addicting.
And I'm kidding, Tim won a couple (once) times too.
The final round however, I dominated :)
Oh, in the background is the little kindergarten valentine box of
red hotness I gave Tim.

Did it stop with dinner? No of course not.
Another surprise in my room...

Oh and these gorgeous good smelling things too.
They are all blooming now and they are sooo pretty!

It was definitely Valentine-y around my apartment!
Jord made millions of cookies, also delish.

And Kel made chocolate strawberries... Also
known as the most beautiful looking and tasting
thing ever.
One last...
Tim gave me a digital picture frame and loaded pictures of us and our memories on it! I. LOVE. IT. so much. What more could a picture lover like myself ever want?! I was like a little kid excited. I had to discipline myself all week to do homework before I could load more pictures on there. It is now full of memories from high school to now! I'm so excited.

I... am so thankful for this boy. He makes my heart happy :)
He continually serves everyone around him
He is generous beyond measure.
He carefully thinks and plans things to make other people happy.
He is full of gospel light.
He gives me a shining example to look up to.
He encourages, lifts, strengthens, carries, and protects me, and everyone around him.
He sincerely compliments anyone who deserves a compliment, and does the same for someone who looks like they need a compliment.
He lets all of the people he cares about know how much he respects and admires and loves them.
He makes my heart happy :)
