Valentines Day Surprise

For weeks, Tim and I had talked about hanging around St. George and filling our day with fun outdoor activities and breakfast at Black Bear Diner on February 14th. Laid back. Low key. NBD.

When that day arrived, Tim got up to go running and go to Walmart. When he came back he shoved a note in my face (my sleeping face) and told me I better pay attention to it and think about waking up and getting ready for the day! I was sooo confused. So sleepy. Well turns out the note said we weren't going to be doing any of the things we were going to do, but we were leaving the house for the day at 9am and not coming back. He wouldn't tell me anything about what we were doing! We headed to breakfast and Tim got a call from Chad... hmmm weird?! Turns out he and Linz were having breakfast too... We met up with them at Bishop's since Black Bear was too busy, and then Linz and I both has a suspicion we were going to Vegas for the day. We were right! Turns out that was the only thing I was right about all day though.

We made it to Vegas, and pulled into the MGM. A few minutes later Tim came back with tickets to Ka, a Cirque De Soleil show! Linz and I were pumped! I had heard amazing things about this show.

The show wasn't until 7, so... our sweet hubbies took us to the mall and let us run free! Seriously... Dream. Come. True. It was so fun! Tim bought himself quite a few things too, so he was definitely not left out. We had a blast shopping and finding good deals!

While we shopped I was pretty darn sure I had bamboozled Tim into telling me that we were having dinner at PF Changs. I thought I had won! So when our shopping spree was over, we got in the car and headed back to the strip. I have the world's worst directional abilities so I had no clue where we were. (No where near PF Changs) When we got out of the car I kept arguing with Tim telling him PF Changs was THIS way, not THAT way. He just kind of brushed me off and made excuses for why we had to go his way. As we're walking through the shopping center, I spotted Maggiano's. This heavenly restaurant I had raved to Tim about for a couple years now. I teased him and said we could go there instead of PF Changs! (It is pricier than we usually spend on the 2 of us... so I jokingly said it.) Hahah. Wow. I am blonde because even when I saw it I still didn't think we were going there. Didn't believe it until we were inside the restaurant, telling them our names for our reservation. This truly was the highlight of the day for me. I was so shocked and so impressed that Tim had remembered the name of this place and kept it in his memory bank for a special surprise someday. I was beaming. We had such a fun and incredibly delicious dinner with Linz and Chad. I loved every second.

We saw Ka after dinner and that was mind blowing. Just amazing. I could watch it again and again, I wasn't ready for it to end when it did. I'd definitely suggest seeing that show and having your mind blown by the stage movement, lighting work and the acrobatics.

Tim is the best. Seriously? Who takes the time to plan such a fun and thoughtful day like that?! He is so, so good to me. I truly appreciate his sincerity and his kindness to me! Love that guy with all my heart!
